National Monument of Indonesia, or in Indonesia we called it Monas (Monumen Nasional Indonesia) is a very great building which is built 40 years ago by Ir. Soekarno. To build this building, it needs almost 14 years since the constrution of Monas began in 1961. It has 132 meters in height and it is located in the centre of the capitol city of Indonesia, Jakarta. The most famous part of Monas is the fire statue on its Top which is covered with gold foil. Instead of the monument, it contains the museum too. We can visit Monas and but a ticket to go upside to the top and enjoy the Jakarta view from the top. In the museum, we can see a lot of diorama that describe how are Indonesian struggles and battles to beat colonialist in the past. We also can see some growth of Indonesia after independence day there. Moreover, we can also see the growth of public transportation in Jakarta. If you want to visit Monas, the monument and the museum are open daily from 8:00 AM until 03:00 PM in Western Indonesia Time (UTC +7). However, Monas is closed in the last Monday of each month.
