There is something interesting in Google India doodle (and most country in America and Mediterrania) today, that shows us the La Tomatina celebration. La Tomatina is a festival which is held regularly in Valencian town of Bunol, a town near Mediterranean, on the last Wednesday of August. Many trucks are hauling thousands of pounds of tomatoes which are grown and harvested specifically for this day head for Plaza del Pueblo. In this festival, the participants throw tomatoes and get involved in this tomato fight. Google in its doodle caption said that La Tomatina is arguably the world’s largest food fight. They do this festival purely for fun. Actually, I don’t really agree with this festival because it seems like they’re throwing food in vain. Meanwhile, there are a lot of hungry people in this whole world. Why don’t they do other activities that honor the foods more? They can process those huge count of tomatoes into the more useful products and food, pickle the tomatoes, cook them and eat together, or even deliver it to the poor. Charity! There are many ways of charity we can do for this blissful, that can more describe how grateful we are for all God’s bless for us. Finally, we all take refuge to the Lord from doing things in vain.
