Eid Mubarrak! Muslim all over the world finish their a month fasting, Ramadan. Then, taqaballallahu minna wa minkum. May God accept our deeds and yours. This moment also started the July’s Google doodle. Since the Eid el-Fithr this year came on July 6th, Google made the doodle about it on July 4th. Google choose the very unique tradition of Eid el-Fithr in Indonesia: Mudik. This tradition made the Indonesia’s streets are busier than usual! Indonesian people, both muslim or non muslim, did the mass migration of city dwellers to thir rural hometowns.
Although the Mudik tradition is the signature of Indonesia’s moment, but Eid el-Fithr is a global holiday. People all around the world celebrate it. This is the real holiday for muslim, although in non muslim countries they still working/study.
However, in the beginning of this July, Google also made some global doodles such as Juno Reaches Jupiter (July 5th) and Nettie Stevens’ 155th birthday (July 7th). Juno is a satelite, built by NASA, which is sent to Jupiter. After its five years journey, finally it reached Jupiter in the last July 5th. Meanwhile, Nettie Stevens was an American geneticist. She discovered the connection between chromosomes and pysicality. She introduced the XY sex-determination system, which is taught in biology classrooms around the world today.
