The regulation in the street is necessary to prevent street chaos and avoiding street accident. Various effort is tried in the past to do this. From control the street using the semaphore flags, the green and red boards which is lighted with lamp, or the policemen that stand in the street and guide the vehicles. By then, using of electric traffic light is performed in the very first today in 1914. James Hoge designed this electrical traffic light system so that the light is automatically change with an appropriate pattern in order to not making crash in each lane. For this “Municipal Traffic Control System” invention, James Hoge received the U.S. Patent in 1918. Another patent of electric traffic light system is received by Garret Morgan in 1923 which is sold his invention to General Electric. The invention of traffic light is truly useful to keep the street safe and is followed with other street signals to support its purpose. However, although this electrical light and other street signals is applied in every street in the world, the most important thing that keep the street safe is the attitude of the drivers and riders. No matter how perfect the signs are, they will be useless without the good attitude and self-awareness of the street user. So, from ourselves, let start to be a good street user!
